Critical Mass?hey, we are doing well, - 28 people now on the list and from all over the world - a truly international squad. But clearly we need an icebreaker to encourage people to post - its not easy is it?
So heres a starter for you: How old is your child, how did you feel when they wer4e born, and how has your view changed?
I know I felt really terrible, spent ages locked away in my den, and was really quite depressed. Now my son is 12 and I have completely come to terms with his disability...its isnt easy sometimes, but he is luckily a very chatty boy and is usually loving and cheery - sounds a bit like a stereotypical experience of DS but in my case its true. Now he's older he gets some independence - in fact he is off down the back lane playing with his friends as I type, though I expect he will come back covered in oil or mess and need to be thrown in the shower, or get into trouble for wrecking something and get a telling-off!
